How may editing video impact the teaching and learning content you will create?

Educational content has improved over time with the integration of technology tools. Technology has come with its positive and negative sides; it’s a life-changing and fundamental addition to learning and teaching however, how we use determines the positive outcome. Multimedia learning principles have impacted many areas in the use of such tools, an example is using videos in the contents. Videos that are poorly created or editing can result in loss of important information or cause challenges in grasping the content.

Video editing is a very impactful element because it is the key to combining images and sounds to make teaching feel emotionally connected and sometimes truly understand the content we’re explaining. It is also easy to use and supports different formats including MP4, AVI, AVCHD, and others. some of the functions you can do are; trim, cut, split, combine and crop in just a few clicks. It has various fashion filters and visual effects, you can also add Mosaic, tilt-shift, and effects like face-off to your video(Brown, 2021). Videos can easily showcase 3D images, animations, and other unique concepts. Teachers can also integrate activities that are complex to perform in class or can pose danger. In addition to that, videos have the ability to deliver literature, music, history, and many other interesting things directly in front of the learners (Brown, 2021). It’s easy to do and it does provide you with quality videos.

All these features promote well video editing skills and integrating into the contents can enhance effective learning and teaching for both teachers and students.

Below is a basic video editing example using iMovie, some of the functions used are transitions, split, and adding titles and credits to the end of the videos.
